Today’s T3 includes tips for finding hotel rooms at the last minute, managing Apple calendar spam, and getting a great deal on HBO NOW.

1. Save on Last-Minute Hotel Reservations with Hotel Tonight App

If you need a hotel room at the last minute, install the Hotel Tonight app on your phone to help you find a good deal nearby. I haven’t used the app myself, but I got the tip from a friend who had to stay in Phoenix overnight unexpectedly because of a flight cancellation. She was able to get a room near the airport, with free Wi-Fi and breakfast, for $54, booking it at 11pm that same night.

2. Manage iCloud Calendar Spam

I don’t use iCloud Calendar but, if you do, you may have noticed a big increase in spam invitations lately. This article provides a number of options for preventing this:

Apple has issued an apology for the problem and says it is working on finding a way to block the spammers.

3. Buy a Chromecast, Get 3 Months of HBO NOW for Free

Here’s a nice holiday deal. If you buy a Google Chromecast or Chromecast Ultra between now and December 24th, you can get 3 months of HBO NOW< the network's standalone streaming service, for free. The deal only applies to new HBO NOW subscribers and there are a few other terms and conditions that you can check out on the Chromecast web page.
