Three Tip ThursdayToday’s T3 includes tips for saving on data streaming usage, MS-Word reference features, and one-day only AmazonSmile bonus.

1. Data-Free Fios Mobile App Streaming

If you’re a Verizon Wireless phone customer, you can now stream videos through the Fios Mobile app on your phone or tablet without it counting against your data plan. NOTE: This does not appear to apply to prepaid wireless accounts.

Here’s Verizon’s press release about the new benefit:

Stream live TV, DVR and on-demand shows data-free with the Fios Mobile App

“The Fios Mobile App allows you to stream 140+ live channels outside of your home, watch your recorded DVR shows and movies while on the go, and access thousands of On Demand titles.”

While the app is currently only available for phones and tablets, you may be able to watch shows on your TV using one of the mirroring options listed in this T4L post:

Mirroring Your Computer or Mobile Device Screen on Your TV

Get the Fios Mobile app for iOS, Android, and Fire OS devices.

If you’re not currently a Verizon Wireless or Fios TV customer, the company currently has a promo to get up to $500 back when you sign up for these services (promo applies to Unlimited wireless plan only).

2. Microsoft Word Footnotes and Endnotes

It’s been a long time since I’ve had to put together any kind of document that required footnotes and endnotes, but if this is something you need to do, Windows Central has a great tutorial with lots of screenshots to help you add them to your Microsoft Word docs.

How (and when) to use Microsoft Word footnotes and endnotes

3. Today Only: AmazonSmile bonus contribution

To celebrate its #1 ranking in this year’s American Customer Satisfaction Index, Amazon is offering a one-day only bonus for contributions made to charities through the AmazonSmile program.

Normally when you purchase something starting at smile.amazon.com, Amazon donates 0.5% of the order value to your designated organization. On Thursday, March 16th only, Amazon is increasing that amount tenfold to 10%! So if you’ve got some things in your shopping cart or were planning to do some shopping at Amazon this weekend, you may want to move up your purchase to help your favorite charity take advantage of Amazon’s bonus.
