However, for some reason they’ve really dug in their heels on this idea, even removing an earlier option that let you at least create a Page without a personal profile, albeit one with a lot less functionality.
Instead, they’ve added various features over time to try to mitigate the problems caused by this policy. A prime example was how it used to be impossible to write a comment as yourself on a post you wrote for your Page. Then they gave you that option, but it wasn’t all that intuitive as to how to do it. But now they’ve made this a lot easier by letting you choose which identity you want to use at the moment you’re posting, liking, or commenting on the Page.
In the posting area at the top of your Page’s Timeline, click the icon of your profile pic. A menu will drop down listing your personal profile name as well as all the pages you have admin privileges for.
If you select any of the identities other than the one for the Page you’re on, the icon will change and the “What have you been up to?” message will change to “Write something on this Page.”
And when you do so and then post it, you’ll be notified that you wrote on the page and you can see the post in the Posts to Page section.
When you want to Like or Comment on a post on your Page, you’ll see those same dropdown options above the comment box.
And then when you Like or Comment on it, it’s just like any other person doing so.
That’s it! Pretty simple once you see it, but it’s not necessarily obvious unless someone points it out to you.

Hi,
Wondered if anyone can help?
Suddenly the switching between business/personal for liking and commenting on my own business page isn't working?!!
Post attribution settings are set to always comment as the business page and it's never been a problem. Just recently the option to toggle between the two has reappeared and no matter how many times I switch it to the business option, my comments still post as my own personal comments. It's so frustrating as lots of our customers don't realise that it's actually me!
Any help would be much appreciated
Gemma
Hi Gemma.
Are you trying to change it on a desktop browser or a mobile app? The latter hasn't worked for me for a long time, but the browser version is fine.
It's possible Facebook is testing something that has broken this feature -- that happens a lot. Maybe a reader will have more information to share.

How do you do this on ios?
Hi Mark.
Unfortunately, you can't do it with the Facebook app. There's a setting that says you can do it, but I've never been able to get it to work.
Thanks for the reminder that I need to update this post!

I keep seeing articles about this.. And yet, it seems to only apply to the Desktop version of Facebook. There's no option for identity-selection on their app.
Hi Dara.
Yes, unfortunately it's only available on the desktop version at the moment as far as I can tell. There's an option in the app to change between a page or a personal profile globally, but it doesn't seem to actually work.

Is there a way to do this on an iPhone?
Hi Gen.
If you go to a FB page you administer in the iPhone app, there is a Settings option where you can change whether you're posting as yourself or as your page, but that's a global change. It does say that you can change it when you're posting, but I haven't been able to figure out how to do that.

Actually, even when I changed the post attribution on all the pages I manage to myself (versus the page), it still posts as the page from the iOS app. :( I even tried uninstalling the Facebook app, powering off and re-booting my iPhone then reinstalling. Nope. It's like it ignores the setting. I'm going to send a message to FB support but thought I'd share here just as an FYI.
Did you find anything out about this? I used to be able to pull down a setting on my posts (iphone) and choose who I was posting as...but now it doesn't appear anymore. Some of my co-workers still are able to do this but a handful of us do not have the option. Frustrating.
Do your co-workers have older versions of the app? That's the only explanation I can think of.
Hello Teressa, did you find any solution?
I´m looking for that solution too. Any news?
Thanks for sharing that info, Tressa! I'll be honest that I just saw the setting and assumed it did what it says it does but didn't actually try it out. (Lesson. Learned.)
If I learn anything more, I'll definitely post it here!
Thanks again for taking the time to let us know about this.

For everybody who's commented saying they didn't have the options listed in this post, Social Media Today has published a post showing the new ways of doing these things. As with many Facebook changes, it's been rolling out over several weeks, which is why I wasn't able to figure out what was happening myself. I'll update the post as soon as I have a chance.
Facebook Switches Page Management and Posting Options – What You Need to Know

I don't have the facility to click the icon on my profile page which is the very first step you're suggesting. Any other suggestions?
I just came across this article, as I am having trouble with facebook's new system. Now they are pushing the "Business Manager" for managing your business pages. Problem is, much of the old functionality is not there. I am trying to connect to another business page on facebook and am trying to "Like" the page via my business page. I have found no way to do this. I can go on the page and "Like" posts as myself or any of my business pages, but can't find a way to do this for the page itself.
Okay, I just found the solution to my dilemma...now when you go to a page, in order to like it as a page, hit the three dots at the upper right, then choose "Like As Your Page."
It irks me that they're moving everything around...and it's making it difficult for me to manage my business pages lately...
That's helpful. Thanks! I wish I knew how I could make comments as my page when I want to comment on a third party page,
Hi Sharon.
This article from Social Media Today shows how to make comments as your page on other pages.

Thanks so much for sharing the solution, Kat! I know other readers will benefit from it as well. - Elizabeth
This is not strickly true. Until this morning I was able to do as you describe, but since, the option to comment as my page is gone.
I manage 2 business pages but it only allows me to post and comment as one of them and I can't choose which one. Is there any way to have this display multiple business pages?
Hi Rich.
I'm sorry, I don't know why you don't have the option to post as your other Pages. I have that option everywhere there's a dropdown box for switching between myself, my current Page, and additional Pages.
- Elizabeth
I manage several business pages and I have the same issue as Rich for 2 pages, they didn't appear in the dropdown box. (computer user)
FB doesn't answer.
Are you aware of this issue Elizabeth?
I haven't heard of this, but I'll take a look when I have a chance to see if I can figure out what's happening. In the meantime, would you be able to email me a screenshot of the dropdown box and let me know which pages are missing? If you're not sure how to take a screenshot, there are instructions in this post.
You can send it to elizabeth@techforluddites.com. - Elizabeth
Until a few days ago, I had the option of changing from my personal identity to my business identity using "posting as". Now when I hit the downward pointing triangle at the top right, it shows (and will take me to) my biz page but not change my posting identity. How do I fix this? I need to contact fans, friends and clients using my biz id.
Hi Ann.
I'm not sure what you mean by "at the top right." There used to be an option in the navigation bar at the very top of the screen to change your identity, but that was removed quite a while ago. Now the dropdown is actually part of the box at the top of the page where you actually right your post. Is that where it's changed for you?
By default, that should be set to your Page identity and would then give you the option to change to your profile identity or a different page's. So if that's not working for you, I'm not sure what the issue is. It still works that way for me. It might be a temporary FB glitch that's only affecting some users or they may be testing something new that has rolled out to you but not everyone.
And just to be clear, you can only do this from the posting area on your page, not from the posting area on your Timeline or news feed.
If what I've said above isn't working for you, you'll need to contact Facebook directly. Click the dropdown area at the top right of the navigation bar (beside the Lock icon), select Help and then Report a Problem.

I've never heard of an "hour page". Would you mind elaborating? I have been on fb for years.
Hi Kate.
I'm not sure why it's disappearing for some people, as I still have the option. As for "hour page," that was a typo on my part. It was supposed to say "your page." Sorry for the confusion!
